Start with the component and the correct revision
Attach a readable drawing identified by a name or code and revision. For an assembly, distinguish assembly documentation from component drawings. State units and explain similar-looking variants. If a drawing changes after submission, explicitly identify the file it replaces to avoid quoting an outdated version.
Material means more than simply “metal”
Provide material grade, thickness or section and, where relevant, supply condition. For tubes, external dimensions and wall thickness are different and should be stated separately. For sheet, provide thickness and component geometry. If material selection is open, describe the part’s function and say it needs discussion rather than allowing an assumption to become an implicit requirement.
Quantity, operations and important features
State the quantity and whether it is a one-off batch or a potentially recurring need. Include cutting, bending, punching, welding or finishing operations. Highlight functional dimensions and assembly-critical surfaces. A preferred date can be provided immediately, but becomes an agreed delivery date only after technical and commercial confirmation.
Files and confidentiality
The FORTZA STEEL form accepts PDF, DXF, DWG, STEP, STP and XLSX within the displayed upload limits. Technical drawings are not published in the media library. Check your authority to share documentation and remove unnecessary personal data. Initial contact can also be a description without attachments; the team may request more information for a quotation.
